When should I see a doctor for mild swollen eyes, crusty eyelids, and inner eyelid whiteness?

You are likely to be suffering from a condition known as meibomianitis.

Your eyes need tears to function properly.

Small glands in the eyelids known as meibomian glands secrete oil that covers and protects the surface of your eye.

If these glands malfunction, they may become swollen or produce too much oil.

You will need to be taught how to perform eyelid hygiene and should be prescribed some medication such as antibiotics or steroids to treat the problem.
