You are likely to be suffering from a condition known as meibomianitis.

Your eyes need tears to function properly.

Small glands in the eyelids known as meibomian glands secrete oil that covers and protects the surface of your eye.

If these glands malfunction, they may become swollen or produce too much oil.

You will need to be taught how to perform eyelid hygiene and should be prescribed some medication such as antibiotics or steroids to treat the problem.

How can I treat my red and inflamed inner eyelids before LASIK?

there are several possibilities for the problem you mention ie redness and slight swelling just on the inner part of the under surface of the eyelids. It may be nothing pathological (sometimes certain parts of the eyes/eyelids may look a bit redder but be normal), or it may be issues like dryness or eyelid inflammation/blepharitis. Without knowing what the problem is for sure, it is difficult to know what else to do to make it better.

Why do I have itchy, scaly red patches on my eye lids and under eyes?

If there’s a definite temporal association between using the new product and the appearance of the itchy red rash, then yes it’s likely that it’s some form of dermatitis related to the product. Dermatitis is also more likely if you are not getting the rash anywhere else on your body, and also have never had the rash before, nor any personal or family history of eczema/psoriasis. The fact that the red patch comes and goes however warrants further investigation by your doctor – there may be something else in this story.
