What are the treatments available for hyperpigmentation as a result of picosure laser treatment?

Doctor's Answers 1

Post-Picosure hyperpigmentation is transient and will often fade on its own over a period of 3-6 months if it occurs on the face. Hyperpigmentation occurring on off-facial sites e.g. limbs will often take much longer to fade (9-24 months).

Resolution will be hastened by stringent sun-protection and use of medical-grade lightening creams.

It is prudent to avoid additional laser treatments and treatments that may further injure the skin e.g. aggressive chemical peeling as they may possibly aggravate the hyperpigmentation further.

Your attending doctor who performed the laser treatment will be the best person to guide you through this difficult period and prescribe you the necessary lightening creams.

How can I get rid of dark scaly patches on my back? (photo)

There is significantly uneven skin tone. I would probably advise to do exfoliation. A mix of Chemical peels and topical products for gentle peels would help with the skin tone. Some lasers or light IPL will also help to reduce the discolouration. That should do the trick!

What is the best treatment for clogged pores in Singapore, and how much does it cost? Are beauty salons allowed to perform laser treatments?

Clogged pores are better treated with salicylic acid chemical peels and/or medical facials with dermabrasion (with salicylic acid solution) as a first-line treatment. Beauticians are not equipped or allowed to perform those procedures or lasers. It is not expensive to do those treatments at a doctor’s clinic. You will be surprised that sometimes, the beautician charges higher than a clinic for their procedures!
