IPL is an effective adjunct treatment in most cases. It should be performed by a qualified eye doctor following a thorough and detailed eye exam on your eyes and eyelids.

In most cases, repeated treatments may be required before there are any noticeable improvements. For optimal results, IPL has to be coupled with other types of treatments in the treatment of Meibomian gland dysfunction and chronic blepharitis.

Depending on the severity of your condition, your eye doctor may recommend the use of:

  • oil-based lubricating eye drops
  • steroids
  • antibiotics
  • cyclosporine eye drops, etc.
