The usual methods to control active acne in between fractional CO2 laser or Infini RF microneedling should be applied similarly. This will include using anti acne topicals, medical peels and even medications to control your acne if severe. The treatment should be stopped till your active acne is well controlled before starting the treatment for scars again. It will make no sense to treat scars when there is new acne leading to more scars.
There have been studies now to show that oral isotretinoin given concurrently with fractional CO2 lasers can help good acne control and should be considered if active acne is recurrent with fractional CO2 lasers or Infini RF Microneedling despite topicals and medical peels in between.
