Will there be more types of non-invasive surgery available to correct ptosis in future?

Doctor's Answer

Plastic Surgery is one of the fields in medicine that is constantly reinventing itself, combining old techniques with new technology, applying new concepts to our existing understanding of anatomy. We have now improved and safer fat grafting technique with higher yields using a PureGraft system and better and safer breast implants for augmentation.

I’m sure there will be newer techniques that will be developed. However, as highlighted by Dr. Ho, the non-invasive techniques have to be as reliable as the standard ones.

Depending on the degree of ptosis and the strength of the levator mechanism, some patients are suitable for a minimally invasive eyelid lift. This is only for patients with mild ptosis. Through small 2mm incisions, the ptosis can be corrected without the need for a traditional incision. The downtime and recovery is much shorter. The key to the success of this technique is patient selection and only patients with mild ptosis will have good results.

Hope this helps and All the best on your journey!
