Are there any complications if a woman with breast cancer but who is not undergoing any treatment breastfeed her child?

Chemotherapy is an adjuvant treatment modalty aimed to reduce the overall risk of cancer recurrence. The benefit and need for chemotherapy can vary from patient to patient depending on the stage of cancer, cancer biology, patient baseline health status and relative age of the patient. Stage 3 breast cancers will generally benefit from chemotherapy and omitting it may lead to a high chance of recurrence. Depending on tumour biology and one of which is what we call the receptor status of the tumour ,will dictate if the patient is suitable for endocrine treatment (tablets).

For demographics, it is quite strongly age-related, in the sense that approximately 80% of cases would occur to people over the age of 55. It also means that 20% will be younger than 55. Being young does not necessarily protect you, but most cases are 55 and above. And in terms of racial distribution, interestingly, the Chinese population is more at risk than the Malay population, which is more at risk than the Indian population. It is not clearly understood why but the Chinese population is more at risk.
