Many urinary tract infections (UTIs) are caused by E.Coli, which is a bacteria found in our stool and can enter the urinary system through the urethra. There are other types of bacteria, and sometimes fungi, which can also cause UTIs.
Symptoms
Symptoms of UTI include painful urination, increased urge to urinate, increased frequency of urination, feeling pressure in the lower abdomen/pelvis, cloudy smelly urine, blood in the urine, sensation of incomplete emptying of the bladder after urination, fever, pain in the lower abdomen/flank/back, nausea/vomiting, fatigue and even acute onset of confusion/behaviour changes.
