How is Trusculpt Flex different from Zeltiq Aesthetics's CoolSculpting in removing excess tummy fat?

Doctor's Answers 1

Trusculpt Flex is a device developed for building and toning muscle by replications of muscle contractions that mimic that of squats, crunch and twist .

Cool sculpting is primarily a device for the non invasive reduction of fat .

The pros of Coolsculpting are:

1. Well documented efficacy in reduction of subcutaneous fat - average up to 25%.
2. Treatment generally well tolerated although there can be some discomfort during the initial vacuum suction.
3. Usually able to see results after 2 or more treatment.sessions .

The cons of Coolsculpting:

1. The suction pads can only treat the areas it can gain access to .
2. Typically you need at least 2.5 cm of pinchable fat to be treated.
3. Sometimes there can be cases of uneven treatment results especially at the edges .
4. Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia is a rare complication.

The pros of Trusculpt Flex:

1. Well documented efficacy in building muscle mass with an average increase of around 30 % after 4-6 treatments.
2. Secondary benefit of fat reduction of about 15 %.
3. Well tolerated with no downtime
4. No significant complications .
5. Early results seems to suggest that it might have some effect on reducing visceral fats.

The cons of Trusculpt Flex:

1. The cost which ranges from $400 to $500 per session.
2. You need a minimum of 4-6 treatments to see results .

Hope this helps

How effective is buccal fat removal in treating bruxism? (photo)

There is ZERO evidence that removal of buccal fat will cure or treat bruxism. At the moment, there is no cure for bruxism as it can be due to a deep-seated neurological program in the brain. All forms of therapy for bruxism (splints/bite guards, Botox, sleep apnoea management) only manage the peripheral effects such as destruction of teeth and restorations and pain. These treatments aim to limit irreversible damage to the teeth and restorations but will not cure or reduce the frequency at which a patient will brux.

Hi, thank you for your question. The factors that affect the aesthetic appearance of one's eye are: 1. Drooping of the outer brow - botox and fillers to improve it. 2. Wrinkles on the sides of The eye - botox and Profile (hyaluronic acid) to improve it. 3. Eyebags below The Eye - Fillers/Profhilo or eyebag surgery to improve it. 4. Hooding of the skin of the upper eyelid - Thermage eyelid or eyelid surgery to improve it. Having said this, please consult your aesthetic doctor so that he/she can best advice you on the suitable treatments!
