thanks for your question. Perhaps your dentist may have done some gentle air drying using the triple function syringe attached to the chair? The same instrument sprays both water and air so both might have been done within a short period of time? Or perhaps your dentist dried it through use of cotton pellets and cotton rolls?
In my clinical practice, I do indeed find that the best results from fillings are often yielded after adequate moisture control is achieved.
If your dentist is very gentle you may sometimes not even realise the tooth has been dried š
