Oily skin is often the precursor of acne although not all persons with oily skin develop acne. So a person who has oily skin and who is prone to acne should go on a maintenance regimen to prevent acne (refer to the Acne section for more details about the use of topical retinoids for the prevention of acne).
On the other hand, oily skin has no significant impact on acne scar treatment outcome.
