1) Pregnancy happens when the sperms inside the semen meets the egg inside the womb. Even without ejaculation, sometimes, there can still be small amounts of semen left behind.

2) STDs happens when one partner carries a virus or bacteria that is spread by having intercourse. And the spread is by touching.

3) As you can see, both of these events are mutually exclusive, ie different from each other.

I hope you would be able to come to a conclusion now.

You could use a condom to reduce your risk of having a STD as well as have as few partners as possible.

What could be the cause of a white discharge from my penis?

It could be prostatic fluid as mentioned by Dr Winston, or possible infection with Candida, chlamydia, gonorrhoea or herpes simplex virus. You will need a full STD workup or urine and blood tests to ascertain the cause.

Can a urine test analysis reveal STDs like trichomoniasis?

One has to be careful in interpreting the urine analysis. To be accurate it has to be a clean mid-stream urine specimen. This may be difficult to collect at times. What happens very often is the urine will pick up White blood cells which are part of a vaginal discharge and gives the false impression that it is a urinary tract infection. A specific test for vaginal infection must be done if there is an associated abnormal vaginal discharge. The Trichomoniasis comes from the vagina rather than from the bladder.
