The temporal loss of sight and sound is called syncope or brief fainting spells. It can actually be quite dangerous. It happens because your body is not able to deal with the high dose of alcohol. It might be a good idea for you to stay off alcohol. The greatest danger is if you faint and suffer a head injury.

For allergies, it can differ from person to person. Most people who have allergies might not even realise that they have it. The common allergies that we see are itchiness in some parts of the body as well as rashes. The trouble is the rashes/itchiness might show up days after consuming the alcohol.

If I experience the loss of sense of smell without any other symptoms, could this be Covid-19 and what should I do?

It could very well be, as anosmia appears to be a distinctive symptom of COVID-19 infection. In Germany, it has been reported that 2 in 3 confirmed cases have a loss of sense of smell. In South Korea, approximately 30 percent of cases have anosmia as a symptom. You should consult a doctor immediately and inform him of your symptoms. He will take a detailed history and refer you for further investigations, if required. This is even more crucial if you have previous contact history with a COVID-19 positive patient.

What are the common symptoms of gastritis and how long does it usually last?

Gastritis is a term almost synonymous with upper abdominal pain although they actually do carry different meanings. Gastritis is a tissue level diagnosis indicating inflammation of the stomach lining which may or may not manifest as pain or discomfort. Mild gastritis is very common and does not require treatment if asymptomatic. Depending on the underlying cause of gastritis, this inflammation can exist over a different time period. Symptomatic gastritis may persist until the underlying cause such as Helicobacter pylori infection or the excessive use of strong pain killer has been addressed.
