How to treat extremely cracked skin on big toe? (photo)

Doctor's Answers 1

Thank you for your question.

Common causes of cracked and scaly rashes on the feet include feet eczema and fungal infection, or sometimes, even a combination of both.

It would useful to do a fungal scraping to confirm or rule out a fungal infection as the treatment of eczema and fungal infection is very different.

If this is due to eczema, applying topical steroids and moisturizers will be helpful in improving the rash. For fungal infections, topical antifungal creams can be effective in clearing the fungus.

If this is persistent, it would be good for you to visit your doctor or dermatologist for a proper assessment and evaluation.
