How can I avoid the unnatural, unaesthetic, and exaggerated effect of fillers?

Doctor's Answers 1

I would rephrase the question as 'how not to look like you had treatment'. You know when you go out of the clinic or when you go out, people will say oh have you ever get fillers done.

It is always important to discuss with the physician to see what effects you are trying to achieve. Because I think once you reach that effect, you have to stop.

As mentioned, people actually do get addicted, I have clients who are actually addicted. Like I said they have features that are flawless, at least in my opinion, but they keep wanting to top up a bit more, so my advice would be, set your expectations and have a discussion early on.

Typically, it is a journey. You have your first 2-3 fillers done today, you let it settle for a bit more and then top up a little bit just to improve things. Once you reach the point where this is how you want it, or rather these are the problems that I want to resolve, I want to look younger, my eye becks look lesser and my chin looks longer, then I am done.

Then you might take another year or two, depending and that's when you get another top-up. I think if you have that in mind and set the tone in such a manner, tell yourself that you just want to get these few things sorted and then you will be happy then there is a less likely chance that you will be overfilled.

What should I do if dermal fillers (Ellanse) caused my face to look asymmetrical?

Firstly, you should check with the doctor on the before treatment photos to see if there was prior asymmetry before starting treatment. That is quite a common occurrence as most patients do not notice that about their face until it’s pointed out to them. Secondly, if there was new asymmetry caused by Ellanse fillers, it’s best to check if it is very noticeable by the laymen. Most times, mild asymmetry is not noticeable by the general public and can be left alone.

What are potential complications if nose threads are performed after fillers?

It is common to have both nose dermal fillers and nose thread lift procedure to be done concurrently. Both work well for nose reshaping but are used differently based on one's pre-existing nose condition and desired effect. When I attend to my patients during their initial assessment, I will differentiate their desired nose reshaping effect amenable to dermal fillers and/or thread insertion.
