In general, if the wound is infected, there can be pus present or discharging from the wound. The pus is usually very yellow and thick and may be foul smelling. The wound itself may be red, inflamed and tender. There may be some slough on the surface of the wound.

Normal wounds may have serous discharge. This is usually clear and less thick then pus and not foul smelling.

Hope this helps!

Hi, Most pimple patches are actually hydrocolloid wound dresssings to assist in wound healing. Some may contain mild levels of salicylic acid that helps dry out pimples. Acne patches may have a role in aiding skin healing together with proven medical treatment.
