Thank you chershell for your question.

It can be quite frightening to have these uncomfortable sensations. Have there been big events in your life recently? Have there been huge changes in your weight or diet recently?

Nausea after food and pain over the lower rib cages can be quite common symptoms. The cause can range from something normal to something dangerous. It can be hard to tell. You should visit a doctor soon.

These are seldom terminal though in my limited experience. The common causes are:

1) Gallbladder problems. Quite common, perhaps try to completely eliminate oily food from your diet. If persistent, needs a scan.

2) Gastric problems. Try regular meals, small frequent meals instead. If persistent, might need further testing.

3) Heart problems. Less common. Need to see doctor to diagnose.

4) Other weird causes: tight bra, severe obesity…

Take care and hope you can find relief soon.

When will my morning sickness end?

Morning sickness tends to be worse in the first trimester. In general, gastric and intestinal motility during pregnancy is reduced, therefore causing common pregnancy symptoms like heartburn, constipation, as well as nausea and vomiting. There does seem to be a suggestion of a cultural predisposition to morning sickness in some women. I usually advise women who experience a lot of nausea to reduce the volume eaten at any particular meal, to eat small small meals more frequently and take easy to digest type foods.

What is the cause of discomfort on both sides of my rib cage, and who can I see in Singapore?

Thanks for your question. There’s not enough context in your question in this instance – we will need to know your age, length of rib pain, any history of trauma or accidents, occupation, etc. If you do not have any nerve involvement (funny sensations like weird tingling sensations), it’s less likely to be related to your previous slipped disk. Your acid reflux is also not likely to be related to this rib cage pain.
