Viral gastroenteritis, or stomach flu, is a type of acute gastroenteritis caused by a viral infection of the intestines. Stomach flu can occur suddenly and is contagious.
Symptoms of stomach flu include:
- Severe abdominal pain
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Fever
Treatment for stomach flu is mainly based on drug treatment, based on the severity. Mild vomiting and diarrhoea in adults can be combined with acupuncture to relieve symptoms, while moderate and severe cases should quickly be treated through Western medicine, especially in children, to avoid dehydration caused by excessive fluid loss.
病毒性胃肠炎即胃肠型感冒，是临床常见的病毒感染引起的急性胃肠炎，发病急，并有传染的疾病。主要症状表现为剧烈腹泻，同时可能有恶心，呕吐，发热等症状。以药物治疗为主，分清病情的轻重，成年人轻度的呕吐和腹泻可以配合针灸治疗缓解症状，中度和重度及时西医就诊，尤其关注小孩，避免因体液过度流失引起的脱水。
