Dr Lip Bin Teh

In 1975, Dr Teh Lip Bin obtained his MBBS from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and was awarded the Singapore Government Fellowship to pursue his Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) in 1978. He then became a member of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom in 1979 and received the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship from the Ministry of Health, Singapore to train in gastroenterology at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, UK in 1982. Dr Teh once was the former deputy head of the Department of Medicine and a senior consultant physician at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) aside from being designated as the head of the endoscopy centre.

Dr Teh Lip Bin currently practices at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore. As a gastroenterologist, he subspecialises in digestive endoscopy, which includes examining the gastrointestinal tract and endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP) (examination of the pancreatic and bile ducts). Apart from that, Dr Teh’s also has interest in researching malabsorption, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), breath hydrogen tests and lactose intolerance, abdominal tuberculosis, drug-induced gastrointestinal bleeding and antibiotic-associated diarrhoea.
