Dr Tay Hin Ngan is an ENT specialist who is an alumnus of NUS. Dr Tay was awarded the Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) scholarship to train in Head and Neck Surgery at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre in New York.
Dr Tay Hin Ngan has a range of expertise but is specifically interested in thyroid surgery (including endoscopic and robotic scar-free thyroid surgery approaches), head & neck surgery for benign disease and cancer, (including robotic), advanced sinus surgery (including endoscopic pituitary, nasopharynx, skull base surgery), sleep apnea surgery and Transoral Robotic Surgery (TORS) for cancer and sleep apnea.
Dr Tay Hin Ngan established the Robotic Head and Neck Surgery program in Singapore General Hospital and initially created thyroid surgery services before introducing surgery of the throat and neck for cancer. Dr Tay has been regarded as a pioneer of the robotic tongue base surgery for obstructive sleep apnea in Asia.
A huge advocate for patient empowerment, Dr Tay's philosophy of practice includes thoroughly informing patients to ensure they have the appropriate breadth of knowledge to reach a conclusive decision for their treatment option.

Hi, it is possible for this to happen although it might take a long time. If the impaction is complete, removing it with suction or other instruments is the best option, but if there is a gap for water to make its way beyond the wax to flush it out, syringing will work as well.
