About Dr Tan Wah Siew

Dr Tan Wah Siew is a Senior Consultant Colorectal Surgeon with a special focus in Colorectal Surgery with Surgical Associates. Prior to private practice, Dr Tan was a former Senior Consultant Surgeon in the Department of Colorectal Surgery, Singapore General Hospital (SGH).

Dr Tan obtained her medical degree from the National University of Singapore and went on to finish her Advanced Surgical Training in General and Colorectal Surgery at SGH. Dr Tan was awarded the Healthcare Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) to St. James University Hospital in Leeds, United Kingdom where she was trained in minimally invasive and robotic colorectal surgery for colorectal cancer, surgery for inflammatory bowel disease as well as treatment of locally advanced rectal cancers and recurrent pelvic cancers requiring removal of multiple organs and/or pelvic exenterations.

During her service at Singapore General Hospital, Dr Tan was the first female consultant colorectal surgeon in the history of SGH, and she was also one of the earliest female surgeons in Singapore to be trained in robotic colorectal surgery.

Dr Tan is well experienced in minimally invasive colorectal surgery, proctology, colorectal cancer, advanced rectal cancer requiring pelvic lymph node dissections and pelvic exenterations, and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
